Sarah they were super easy. I think I could make them again and they would look better, but these will do for this school year. I bought these 3.5 gallon buckets at Lowes in the paint department. They have bigger ones, but I thought my students feet wouldn't touch the ground. You will need cardboard, some sort of extra strength glue that works on plastic, poly fill for pillows, ribbon, and fabric. I cut a large circle out of cardboard staples a few layers of the poly fill to the top then lay the fabric over it. I bought 2 yards for these 3 stools and I had more then enough. I used a double sided tape to attach the fabric tightly around the bottom of the bucket. I'm sure there is a better way to do this, but it worked for me. Then I used the plastic glue to attach the ribbon tightly around the edges of the fabric as close to the cushion as possible. Thats about it. :) Very, very simple.
I am a Pre-Kindergarten teacher in Nashville, Tennessee. I have been teaching pre-k for four years and I absolutely love it! I teach in a public, title 1 school with mostly ELL children. I created this blog in order to share some of the fun and creative things I am doing in my classroom as well as get new ideas from other teachers. Please follow me to stay updated on the most current goings on in Pre-K. Enjoy!
I'm crafty, but only with directions. I need a step-by-step how to. LOL!
